ACF Members are Consulting Foresters
ACF’s members are independent consulting foresters who manage forests and market forest products for woodland owners across the country.  Members must adhere to a comprehensive Code of Ethics ensuring no conflict of interest exists in representing clients, meet stringent degree and experience requirements, submit professional and client references, and regularly complete continuing education.  Members look to ACF for timely content provided by subject matter experts.

Topics of Particular Interest
We’re looking for content that engages, inspires, and equips attendees to excel in the consulting forestry profession. Topics of particular interest include:

  • Business Development & Operations: Examples include marketing, financial management, office technology, and succession planning for small and medium sized businesses.
  • Emerging Forestry Trends: Examples include innovations, market forecasting, and future challenges in the field.
  • Technical Skills & Best Practices: Examples include tools and strategies for land management, timber valuation,  forest health assessments, and technology to increase efficiency in the field.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Examples include building strong teams, cultivating client relationships, and fostering the next generation of foresters.

If you have a topic that aligns with these themes or a unique perspective to share, we want to hear from you!

ACF Committees Select Subject Matter Experts
ACF’s member volunteer-led committees select subject matter experts for the opportunities described below.  Committees will review content submissions and extend invitations to potential speakers and authors.  ACF members and content prepared specifically for consulting foresters will receive priority.

Fees and Travel
ACF has a limited budget for subject matter experts.  In most cases for in-person events, ACF will cover at least registration for that event and one night’s hotel stay, additional travel expenses and speaker fees may be paid on a limited case-by-case basis.
